Dear JD1 Swimmers & Parents
Please note that training on Sunday 3rd November will commence at 13:30 and not 13:00. Apologies for any inconvenience it may cause.
Your understanding and cooperation in this matter is much appreciated.
Regards
Danielle
Please remember that if you are attending the Awards Night tonight, you must BRING YOUR TICKET WITH YOU to gain entry.
Although there is no charge for swimmers, they still need to have a ticket for the event, so please do not bring any 'extra' swimmers with you if they don't already have a ticket.
There is limited capacity for the hall and the event is SOLD OUT, so if you have not already been in touch with the committee to get your ticket, please do not just turn up, as we will not be able to admit you.
The next Time Trials will be held on Tuesday 29th October at Tollcross from 6 - 8.30pm as follows:
We will have a fancy dress parade in the club office at 6pm, so if you want to take part in this please be there on time. All swimmers who dress up will receive a goody bag and there will be a special prize for the best costume.
Swimmers will then go through to change and shower before going on poolside for 6.15pm.
We will be running a variety of events - your Coach will tell you which events you should swim, but to get the most benefit from Time Trials, please swim events which you do not have a current up to date time for. You can swim three events.
We will be running more Time Trials throughout the season when we will cover other strokes and distances.
All swimmers should bring a spare towel and T shirt to dry off and keep warm between swims.
To ensure all swimmers are able to be timed we will need some parents to help on poolside as timekeepers. You don’t need any experience so if you are able to help please send your details to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or just come forward on the day.
Administrator leave
Please note that our club administrator, Cathie Robertson, will be on annual leave from Monday 14th – Friday 18th October.

STOs for West District Meets
Can all STOs please note the new process outlined below by John Deans for signing up to officiate at West District meets. Trainee Judges can also request mentoring through this form.
‘Following on from the success of the Volunteer/STO “SignUp” system at the Sprints & Relay Champs, we are continuing with it for the Junior Age Group Champs.
It gives us more information, ahead of the weekend, on how many people have actually volunteered to help, or whether we really need to panic in terms of Accreditation etc.
If you “normally” come along to help out, e.g. as an STO, Announcer, or at the front desk, or organise volunteers or STOs for your Club, PLEASE, PLEASE, use the system as it will give an overall picture in one place.
SIGN UP is on a per Session basis. Click a role in any/every Session then hit the Submit button at the end.
There are links to the SIGN UP page on the “Home” page and the “2019 District Meets” page of the West District website and the following link can be copied and used in any emails/Facebook/Twitter communications that you may decide to use within your Club.

Dear Parent & Swimmer
You will no doubt be aware that 100's of Europe's best swimmers will descend on Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow from 4-8th December to contest the European Championships (short course 25m format).
Scottish Swimming and Glasgow Life have teamed up to enable members of Scottish Swimming clubs an opportunity to purchase exclusive highly discounted tickets for the event. When purchased in bulk through the club, members can get a 50% discount on the prices of tickets for morning heats sessions and a 25% discount for evening finals sessions.
This means a normal adult ticket for the heats can be purchased for £7.50 instead of £15.00 and finals tickets for £30 instead of £40. Concession rates for children (under 16s) and senior citizens are a further 50% less than these rates.
These rates are exclusive to Scottish Swimming clubs and must be ordered in bulk by a club representative to obtain the discount, which kicks in when ordering 8 or more tickets per session.
We are now opening up this to City of Glasgow members and ask that you add your details to the Google form at the link below to order your tickets.
This form will only be open until the Friday 27th September so do not delay! Complete it now to get these special rates to watch exciting world class swimming right on your doorstep! It is likely to be the last major international meet to be held at Tollcross for the foreseeable future so it is an opportunity not to be missed!
Once we have collated your responses the club will purchase the tickets in bulk (subject to a minimum of 8 per session) and you will be billed for your individual order through Team Unify. Orders will be subject any incurred booking and transaction fees.
HEATS are at 9:15am each day (Wednesday to Sunday).
FINALS are at 4:45pm each day (Wednesday to Sunday).
It is not necessary that all those who attend are members of the club or of Scottish Swimming, only that we make the order for members. Please feel free to include other family members or friends in your order request.
Best regards
Ian Wright & Victoria Milburn
