The club has once again been asked, by SASA, to provide helpers (minimum age 10) for the forthcoming Scottish National Age Group Championships that is being held at Tollcross Leisure Centre on Thursday 12th April to Sunday 15th April 2007.
The helpers are needed to work with the boxes, in which the swimmers place their clothes at the start of each race, at the final sessions only each day.
I also need a couple of runners during each day to post the results on the notice boards.
If you are willing to represent the club by helping at this prestigious event then please telephone 0141 573 3234 or e-mail me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than Friday 6th April 2007.
I only have start and approximate finish times at the moment. Once all volunteers have been identified a timetable will be produced and everyone will be notified of the sessions at which they are required to attend.
PLEASE NOTE THAT, AS IT IS A DIFFICULT TASK TO SUPERVISE THE CHILDREN AND THERE ARE ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF PLACES, NO ONE SHOULD “JUST TURN UP” ON THE DAY, PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS HAVE TO BE MADE WITH MYSELF.
All helpers must wear shorts (navy if possible) and white (if possible) City of Glasgow Swim Team Polo shirts.
Please also bring a filled water bottle.
Thank you for your help.

As many swimmers and parents who attended the West District Open Championships at Cumbernauld at the weekend will be aware, there is a police investigation into an alleged allegation of the inappropriate use of a mobile phone camera by an adult in the changing area involving a swimmer from another club.
Can I ask all parents to make swimmers aware of the misuse of mobile camera phones, to be vigilant of suspicious behaviour in the changing area and the importance of reporting any such incidents to the coaching staff and pool staff whether at training sessions or at swim meets?
Thanks for your co-operation,
Kay MacLean CPO

Please be aware that there has been yet another theft from a swimmers bag at Tollcross.
Please do not leave your bag unattended in the changing rooms, cubicles or in unlocked lockers.
When in the pool make sure your bags are beside all of the other swimmers bags, near the area where the coaches are, as this will deter the thieves.
Thanks to Glasgow City Council, Spectators, Competitors, Officials and other volunteers who helped make this an excellent competition..
Results are now available..
15th Glasgow International Masters Meet 2006 Meet - Results
Some feedback we received..
"On behalf of myself and my Grove ASC fellow masters Evan Williams and Megan McKenzie, I'd like to thank the Club for its organisation of the International Masters meet. Your hard work is much appreciated, and we had a great weekend of competition. Thanks also to the officials for giving their time, and to the City of Glasgow Council and it's employees for such a fantastic venue...definitely my favourite competition pool.
Best wishes
Stuart Forbes"
