Now that the COGST Long Course Graded event is over it is time to show our appreciation for the person who pulled it all together and made it happen - our Meet Director and Club President Marjorie Phillips.

Most people are not aware of the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to run a meet especially if this is the 1st one which the club has run for many years.

Marjorie worked tirelessly to organise:

• Volunteers - to cover all of the jobs before during and after the meet
• Technical officials - to ensure that all sessions were covered and accredited
• Hire of the pool, catering and facilities at Tollcross
• Equipment required to run the meet - laptops, printers, watches, radios, clipboards etc.
• T-shirts for volunteers to identify the helpers
• Buying Water and sweets for everybody who was helping
• Liasing with the West District, Scottish Swimming and Glasgow Life to ensure that all the requirements were met
• Co-ordinating all of the activities "on the day" to ensure that the meet ran smoothly

It was a fantastic effort and a job well done to Marjorie.
