cg2018Three City of Glasgow Swim Team members have been named in the final Team Scotland swimming squad for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia in April.

Distance specialist and University of Glasgow student Camilla Hattersley has joined University of West of Scotland backstroker Craig McNally and butterfly swimmer Sean Campsie in the 29 strong squad which also features four divers. Head Performance Coach Ian Wright has also been selected as part of the team's coaching staff.

It will be the second Commonwealth Games appearance for Hattersley, who also swam in the Rio 2016 Olympics. Hattersley competed at Glasgow 2014 making the final of the 800m Freestyle, and commented:

"I'm so happy to be selected for my second Commonwealth Games and I'm really excited to head out next month. When I went to my first Commonwealth Games I was really nervous but as I've got more experience I've realised that while it's still a big deal to go to these major events when it comes to your race it's still a normal race, you just can't let your nerves get the better of you."

The divers and swimmers were announced to Team Scotland alongside a number of athletes from other sports at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow on Wednesday. This included a further 92 athletes across 10 sports, with the newly selected sportsmen and sportswomen taking the total number of team members past the 200 mark.
